Now, because I was on the ball back when I first put this plate transmog set together, I went and selected Exceptional Crystal-Plated Greatbelt as the belt, despite the fact that it’s probably the hardest iteration of that belt model to get. If you like the look, save yourself some grief and trawl through the alternates on Wowhead.

Happy birthday to me! That’s right, it’s my birthday today, and what better way is there to celebrate than to release a set meant for a class I never play.

That isn’t 100% true. I do have an Alliance death knight (you might remember Mortuary from Death Knight posts of yore), but it’s a class that’s never really clicked with me. Which is weird, because I love death, and infecting people with horrible plagues is up there with knitting and long walks on the beach so far as my hobbies are concerned.

Maybe I should take her out for a birthday spin…

Okay, so I normally try to be funny (note that I don’t generally succeed), but there’s not much to say about this outfit. It does have the benefit of letting hunters and shamans alike have access to the Shaman Tier 2 shoulder model, though, which for Horde players has the added bonus of dredging up feelings of resentment re: wolves and lightning and quest-related combinations of the same while lagging heavily in Frostfire Ridge.

As for the gear, Auction House - Click Here For Undermine Journal Crystalhide Handwraps  is a tough one to explain. It’s the result of one of Burning Crusade’s more obscure mechanics: first, grind 50 Apexis Shards from mobs in Blade’s Edge Mountains and score a copy of not-apparently-BoE Depleted Mail Gauntlets. Similarly, Auction House - Click Here For Undermine Journal Abyssal Mail Greaves has its own story to tell — it’s a potential drop from a rare lurking around Shadowmoon Valley, making it a theoretically easier grind from its fellow world drops.

Oh yeah, and World Drop - Includes Zone-Specific Drops Auction House - Click Here For Undermine Journal Kilt of Elemental Mending? Not a kilt. So there’s that.

EDIT: Hey, shamans! It’s been brought to my attention that you’d rather not raid using a bow and arrows, so on request I’ve come up with a few staff alternates that work with this set. The three I’m thinking of are Archus, Greatstaff of Antonidas (heroic version), Engraved Gargoyle Femur, and Cold Convergence (Alliance version).

Or you can toy with all three and decide what you like best on Wowhead.

Leather Transmog: Discarded Bag of Entrails

Leather Transmog - Discarded Bag of Entrails (Undead)

And, more importantly, what the heck was in those entrails that makes the gaping eyehole glow? Radioactive waste in ICC 10, it’s more likely than you think.

First of all, who discards perfectly good entrails?

This is a bit of a departure from my usual aesthetic, but I don’t care. Those shoulders are fantastic. Seriously, take a minute and watch their animation on Wowhead.

We’re talking surprise shoulder tentacles, people. The best kind.

And this is one of the few sets I’ve done where I actually prefer it on an undead model. Apparently, it’s at its best with a few chunks torn out of it.
