Okay, so this started life as a golden paladin transmog but, uh, somehow it’s less Jamie Lannister and more “I have a chandelier on my head and I am without shame.”

I’ll admit, though, I’m frustrated about the lack of consistency in the shades of gold. The boots, for example, work on a dwarf because of her shorter stature, but when the taller races are in play I’m not sure the proportions still work. I’m also not 100% about  Vendor - Gold  Protector of Frigid Souls. Ugh.

Anyone have any better ideas? Let me know in the comments.

Cloth Transmog: Heroes’ Frostfire Shoulderpads (Alliance Mage)

Cloth Transmog - Heroes' Frostfire - Draenei

Sorry, boys. This dress is a hot mess on male toons. If you don’t like it, write to Blizzard and ask for — no, demand — equal opportunity sexiness.

And the persnickety “Mage’s Only” sticker once again rears its ugly head. I was really hoping — praying, even, to the Light and just about anything else that would listen — thatVendor - Gold Frostfire Shoulderpads, available on the Black Market Auction House to any cloth-wearing player with the coin, would share  Wrath of the Lich King Raid Drop - Boss Loot or Raid Trash Drop Heroes’ Frostfire Shoulderpads‘s skin. But alas, the original Frostfire shoulders are blue, not peach, making this cloth transmog set one more sacrifice at the altar of well-dressed wizardry.

Well, well-dressed Alliance wizardry, anyway, because the Horde version of  Vendor - Honor Points Tyrannical Gladiator’s Cord of Meditation is, again, entirely the wrong colour. Of course, a creative Horde mage could probably find an alternate belt and maintain the soul of the set. If you’re a Horde player who’s not creative, let me know, and I’ll try banging my head against that particular wall myself.

Oh, and  World Drop - Includes Zone-Specific Drops Auction House - Click Here For Undermine Journal Cournith Waterstrider’s Silken Finery is actually a BoE rare drop from a rare that can be found loping around Pandaria, so make sure you know what you’re killing before you start to grind. And yeah, on most toons, you’re going to see a sliver of black where the top of the stockings peeks out from behind the dress. It’s frustrating, but, so far as I can tell, there are no pants available that will be completely invisible with this dress model.

This blog gets a lot of druids.

It’s true. The increasing frequency of encrypted searches means the vast majority of search keywords these days are locked away, hidden in the infuriatingly useless “Unknown Search Terms” section, but a few always slip through.

And, yeah, druids.

I mean, it confuses me a little. Don’t get me wrong, I love transmog, but 90% of druids spend their lives as cats and bears and large, apparently sentient, trees. If you’re an enormous horned bird flushed with mystical lunar energy, does it really matter what your tier gear looks like beneath your feathers?

Still, druids, I love you guys. So this one’s for you, assuming you’re a night elf or a worgen because, uh, it’s possible Omenai Vest is a weird Alliance-only quest reward from Hellfire Peninsula.

You know, the Horde get a lot of love on this blog, which is understandable because the Horde is awesome, but I was talking to a guy yesterday and he mentioned there’s this whole other faction out there. Apparently they like, uh, lion motifs and the colour blue and, uh, their king looks a bit like Bruce Campbell? I don’t know. They seem cool.

So, to all you Alliance-heads out there. Uh, what do you call yourselves? Alliance-rs? Alliance-istas?

This one’s for you.

Literally, only for you. That belt is faction-locked.

I don’t normally work with faction-specific items, but the moment I saw Jessera’s Fungus Lined Tunic I was in love.

Notes

Oh lord, Windchanneller’s Mantle. I think I need a button for “It’s complicated.”

The short version is that they drop off a mob that can spawn during the completion of a repeatable quest in Blade’s Edge Mountains. Sounds easy, doesn’t it? Except you can’t pick up the quest until you’re revered with the Consortium.

So, uh, have fun with that!
